MIFA#1 Bargaining Update

Negotiations between Frontier and MIFA I continued in Romulus, MI. from August 4, 2014, through August 15, 2014, without the parties reaching a tentative agreement.

The Company and the Union have entered into the next phase of negotiations under the Structured Bargaining Agreement – MOA. The MOA requires 30 days of bargaining with a mediator from FMCS to be present. The mediator was present during the last session of negotiations in August and will be available in the upcoming session as well.

The next session will commence during the weeks of September 15, 2014, and September 22, 2014. It is expected that these upcoming weeks will be much more intense.If an agreement cannot be reach during this period, the parties will move the negotiations into the required 14 days of the escalation process.

The majority of the proposals that the Company has on the table are felt to be concessionary. Some of those proposals deal with scheduling provisions, overtime pay / administration, on call premiums, vacation provisions, short term disability, use of contractors, and excused union time off. At this time, the Union considers all the aforementioned Company proposals to be unacceptable.
